RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
So apparently the government has perverted justice and has chosen to use the so-called war on terror as an excuse to invade the lives of every american.

That's right, congress just approved a bill saying that the FBI can now snoop into your internet activity, your financial records and your reading lists from bookstores and libraries without obtaining a warrant from a judge.

the only thing the FBI has to do is to sign a "NSL" or national security letter, which is not approved by anybody or anything outside the FBI/DOJ. When the list of NSL's that were written so far was requested under the freedom of information act (which says that americans have the right so see anything written by the government because, after all, the government is our property - we pay for it) the list that the FBI returned. it was really useful.

I for one can't wait to see the end of the bush/cheny/ashcroft/rumsfeld era. I hope that the united states citizens are willing to stand up and fight for their privacy and civil liberties. Unfortunately i'm all too cynical - it seems that as long as americans are somewhat comfortable... a car, an apartment and a few small luxuries, nothing seems to matter at all - least of all that they are SLAVES. we are all slaves.

the only way to free ourselves is to fight. fight for your right to privacy at all costs! fight against government intervention into your life! fight against the military industrialist regieme that makes war a profit-bearing enterprise! fight against the eroding of our system of so-called democracy....

shout at the top of trees and mountains I AM FREE. and if that doesn't work, well then maybe its time for a revolution.

if rights continue to erode like this, pretty soon anyone who makes a post like this will end up in a gas chamber in cuba. fuck this.

Ok well in case you forgot I am a friend of dana/sarah.

Anyway, I am also very anti bush and very procivil liberites.

I am sure that first time the FBI attempts use that as evidence in a trail that it would be deemed in admisable, and anyone who comes under investigation because of this would probally sue the FBI for an invasion of privacy, thats just the way the system works. Secondly how in the hell does the FBI deem that unclassified, the whole fucking thing is black markered. There needs to be some kind of injunction filed through courts here, throw that peice of crap right back in there face.

As for American citizens standing up, theres a real small chance of that happening because Bush's civil policies alone, theres the hole "go it alone" foriegn policy and his briliant economic plan to cause future inflation by giving rich people tax cuts and continueing to ass rape the american worker. I honestly belive that most americans no longer care about civil liberties, this once a country that war for its independence because of a tax on beverages, sheerly because of priniciple. But now we stand by in the name of fighting terrorism, truely becoming what we fear. In all reality though this is not a war for to preserve american freedoms, its is a war of patronige(sp?). Bush's coattails, it really makes one wonder how he manges to raise so much campain money. I used to think that the political machines of the boss tweed were a thing of the past, but all one has to do is look at Vietnam or our current situation.

All of america will not get up and shout out, a few will maybe be enough to turn some heads, but that I think is doubtable. People are to willing to give up freedom. After all we have now become the Pax Americanna, that Kennedy so feared, we dont see things in terms of world diplomacy instead we are the same isolationists that didnt care enough to get involved in the Second World War earlier. With out communism to threaten our "freedoms" we became the same complacent people. President called the US a European Power in his fairwell address, well we may be one in terms of military might of military alliances but we are not part of europe in a diplomatic sense. We care only for our own safety and not for the general well being of the rest of the world, so when presidents like bush come along they are all to willing to ass rape countries like saddam for even greater coattails to be ridden by the likes of halibertin.

I do have to agree that we are slaves the capitalist system and that so long as most american are kept happy and save then that will be enough tp please them. But that is not the america that the drafters of the consitution envisioned, they envisioned a virteos enlightened american citizen who vote based on there political belives not who had the better commerical on network television.

On a side note am I alone and thinking the media is way to one sided and always controling the view the average american citizen gets of the world. Is it really "Infotainment". If so then there is another important liberty that went right out the window, free press, a slanted press is not free.
